Privacy policy

Coach is a coaching app for volunteer junior basketball coaches, published by suneater. In short: nothing leaves your phone unless you send it yourself.

What the app stores

The app keeps these on your phone, inside the app’s own storage:

• your team’s name, colours, and training and game times;
• your players’ first names or nicknames, shirt numbers and, if you add them, photos;
• games, court time, training sessions, attendance, captaincy, skill assessments and the notes you write;
• a short list of error details if the app ever misbehaves (see Problem reports below).

The app does not ask for, and has nowhere to record, medical information, dates of birth, addresses or contact details.

What the app sends

Nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. On Android the app does not even have permission to use the internet.

We (suneater) never receive any of your information.

When information leaves your phone

Only when you choose to send it:

• Messages, cards and plans. The parents’ message, the player, parent and season cards, and the training plan open your phone’s share sheet. What you send, and who to, is up to you.
• Backups. Export and share saves a backup file on your phone and opens the share sheet. You decide where it goes, for example your own email or Drive. A backup holds everything the app stores except photos.
• Problem reports. If you tap Share report, the share sheet opens with the app version, your phone’s model and browser details, and the error messages. It holds no names, notes or anything about the children.
• Device backup. If Google backup (Android) or iCloud backup (iPhone) is switched on for your phone, the phone may include the app’s data in that backup, as it does for most apps. That is between you and Google or Apple; we never see it.

Camera and photos

The app uses the camera or photo library only when you tap to add a player or team photo. Photos stay in the app’s storage on your phone.

Children

Coach is for coaches, who are adults. It is not directed at children, and children do not use it. Information about the players is entered by their coach, stays on the coach’s phone, and is never collected by us. Coaches should follow their club’s rules on keeping information about players.

Deleting information

Delete a player in Players → Edit roster, or erase everything in Settings → Advanced → Reset all data. Uninstalling the app also removes all of its data from the phone. Backup files you have saved or sent elsewhere are yours to delete.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new date.
